On January 27th, Arajet, the Dominican Republic’s expanding low-cost airline, has officially announced the launch of nonstop flights between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Santo Domingo’s Las Américas International Airport.

The new service, starting April 11, marks a key milestone in Arajet’s North American expansion and strengthens air connectivity between the Caribbean and the United States.

Initially operating four times per week, the Miami–Santo Domingo route is expected to increase in frequency later this year. Arajet will operate these flights using its modern Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, designed to offer a streamlined and efficient travel experience.

Beyond Miami, Arajet has also confirmed plans to introduce nonstop flights to Punta Cana and expand its network to New York and San Juan, Puerto Rico. This growth aligns with the airline’s broader vision of positioning the Dominican Republic as a central hub for travel in the Americas.

Arajet’s expansion follows its recent approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation, a crucial step in enhancing aviation ties between the United States and the Dominican Republic.

This development is expected to boost tourism and trade between the two regions, offering travelers greater accessibility to key destinations.
